Introduction
Badr Academy Education respects the privacy of site visitors, students and parents. We aim to handle personal data responsibly, securely and only as far as needed to provide our educational services and to manage registration, communication and support.
This policy explains in general terms the kinds of data we may collect, why we use them and how we handle them.
Data we may collect
Depending on the service used, we may request or receive data such as:
- Name.
- Phone number.
- E-mail address.
- Account details on the platform.
- Educational stage or level, where needed.
- Governorate or area.
- A parent’s phone number, for services that require it.
- Course registrations and requests.
- A student’s progress through the learning content.
- Messages and enquiries sent to the academy.
- Your ratings of courses, resources and members, shown publicly only as an average and a count, without your name.
- Basic technical information such as browser and device type, IP address and cookies, when using services that need them.
The academy does not ask users to enter bank-card details on the site under the current payment system: the payment method available at present is cash.
Why we use data
We may use data to:
- Create and manage the user’s account.
- Register the student in courses.
- Activate the learning content after payment is confirmed.
- Provide technical support and customer service.
- Communicate about the registration, the course or the account.
- Follow the student’s progress on the platform.
- Improve the site and the educational services.
- Protect the site and the accounts from misuse.
- Meet regulatory or legal requirements where they apply.
Data of students under the legal age
Some services may be provided to students who have not reached the legal age.
When a parent’s data is needed, it is used for communication and follow-up related to the educational service.
The parent or the person responsible for the student should make sure that the data provided on the student’s behalf is correct.
Cookies
We use cookies and your browser’s local storage only as far as needed to run the site, and we ask for your consent on your first visit through a bar that lets you accept all, keep only what is necessary, or choose categories yourself.
- Necessary: logging in, keeping the session, security and the shopping cart; saving your answers in “Find your path” on your device so you can continue where you stopped; and remembering your choice in the consent bar itself. The site does not work without them, so they cannot be switched off.
- Preferences: remembering your interface choices on this device only, such as dark or light mode and how courses are displayed. They are not sent to our servers, and you can refuse them.
- External media: videos embedded from YouTube. The YouTube player – which sets its own cookies – loads only when you press play, or automatically if you accept this category.
The site currently uses no analytics, advertising or tracking tools. If we add any in future, we will name them in this section and ask for your consent before they are switched on.
We store your choice in your browser together with the version number of this policy, so the consent bar appears again only if what this policy says about cookies changes. You can change your choice at any time from the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page.
Sharing data
We do not sell users’ personal data.
The minimum data needed may be shared with the technical service providers the academy relies on to run the site, hosting, e-mail or educational services, and only as far as required to provide the service.
Data is not disclosed to any other party except for a legitimate operational reason or a legal obligation.
Protecting data
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to help protect data from unauthorised access, loss or misuse.
Even so, no electronic method can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
Keeping data
We keep data for as long as needed to provide the service and to manage accounts, requests and the obligations related to them, or for as long as the applicable rules require.
Your rights
You can contact us to ask about your data, to request the correction of incorrect data, or to request deletion of data where this is possible and does not conflict with existing legal or operational obligations.
External links and services
The site may contain links to external sites or services.
Those sites are governed by their own privacy policies, and the academy is not responsible for the practices of external sites it does not operate.
Updates to this policy
This privacy policy may be updated from time to time as the services develop or the way the platform operates changes.
The updated version is published on this page.
