  • Add and subtract multi-digit whole numbers using place-value strategies and the standard algorithm, and check by estimation and inverse operations
  • Convert between units of length, mass, capacity and time and solve measurement word problems
  • Find the perimeter and area of rectangles and squares and solve problems with unknown sides
  • Interpret multiplication as a comparison ("3 times as many") and represent it with equations and bar models
  • Find factors and multiples of numbers up to 100; classify numbers as prime or composite
  • Multiply up to 4-digit by 1-digit and 2-digit by 2-digit numbers; divide up to 4-digit by 1-digit numbers with remainders; interpret remainders
  • Evaluate expressions using the order of operations, including parentheses
  • Recognise, compare and find equivalent fractions; add and subtract fractions with like denominators; work with mixed numbers and benchmark fractions
  • Read, write and compare decimals to hundredths and relate them to fractions with denominators 10 and 100
  • Build and read line plots with fractional data and answer questions about them
  • Identify points, lines, rays, segments, parallel and perpendicular lines, angle types, polygons and lines of symmetry
