About the resource

Edraak is a free Arabic learning platform launched by the Queen Rania Foundation in Jordan, which puts its content in Arabic first. It has a section dedicated to school learning, with lessons and paths that help school students understand and revise their subjects, alongside its better-known section of professional courses for adults. The strength of the school section is its clear Modern Standard Arabic teaching, and content designed to complement what students learn at school rather than replace it – so a student finds another explanation of a lesson they did not understand in class, and exercises that help them check their understanding.

What you will find

Who it suits

It suits preparatory and secondary-school students who want an additional explanation of their subjects in Arabic, especially mathematics, or need organised revision before exams. It also suits parents looking for a reliable, free resource their children can use at home. Curricula differ between Arab countries, so it helps for students to compare what they study on the platform with their school textbook.

How to use it, step by step

  1. Open the school section and browse the subjects and stages currently available, since the content is updated and expanded continually.
  2. Choose the lesson you are studying at school this week, and watch its explanation before or after the class.
  3. Solve the exercises without looking at the solution, and note the questions you got wrong so you can ask your teacher.
  4. Before the exam, revise the lessons whose exercises you got wrong most often.
  5. Create a free account if you want to save your progress and come back to it later.

Before you start

The platform is an excellent supporting resource, but it does not replace following your teacher and doing your school homework. If your son or daughter needs a broader learning plan in future skills such as programming and robotics, try the “Find your path” tool on the Badr Academy Education website to get a plan that suits their age and interests. The content and its rights belong to Edraak and the Queen Rania Foundation.
